Above: This is a simple mock up of what i want my website to look like, with just basic box's covering the areas i want to place text or images with a description in them to say what is needed there.

Above: This is my shot by shot view, looking at the different angles I will take the shots from and the different types of shot, such as 1) being a extreme close up from a low angle.

Above: This is a brainstorm into things such as costume, location, Props and who I want to act in my piece.

Filming Schedule & photos of brainstorms

These are my story boards, for my orignal idea for the idea, a lot of my ideas stayed the same but due to the different. I still used the extreme close ups on the ~DJ decks and however due to lack of avaliblilty and other boundaries some of the other shots, but i kept the rough ideas the same. Such as the opening frame which is the Dubfiend logo. Shots i had to get rid of where tracking shots and shots from the car as they simply didnt suit or look good with the rest of the video.

CD

Bloc Party, Intimacy, the album cover shows two people kissing or about to kiss on the cover, this is a very different album cover than normal bloc party albums, as their previous albums have all had photos of cities or wood on. This gives the buyer the impression that the album will be different to their previous two which it is, the image also ties in with the album name as obviously the people on the cover are intimate in what they are doing. The image cover could also show the passion that bloc party feel for their music, or intimacy might have been what has inspired them to create the album and there new sound of music.

Hoosiers
The hoosiers album 'trick to life' was cleverly made with the album cover coming out in 4 different colours, unable to select the colour you could buy it stores many people would then purchase more than one to try and get the different colours. The pictures on the front are all the same just different colours, a lot like that bad and the music the picture is humours and not serious, the music is simply there to be enjoyed by people that enjoy music.

Website Research

Hellogoodbye

Colour

The colour of the background is plain white which focus' your attention onto the centre where a poster like frame contains all the infomation, the main page is very simplistic almost like a interactive poster, they have a large photo of the band members.

Content

There is almost no content to the homepage as it is simply just a area to sign up, with a small picture of two t-shirts that can be brought on the website, the main content of the website is kept within the other pages past the homepage, its just a cover to the rest of the website.

Font

The fonts are all large and white, which makes them stand out from the blue background, the font is also serif and all in capitals. The text on the website that is directly talking to you, making you want to click on the links to get further into the website.

Layout

The layout is a lot like a poster, there is a simple rectangle in the middle with all the text and picture within, keeping it clean and simple, leaving all the text and infomation in the site just keeping the homepage looking stylish.

Jamie T

Colour

Jamie T has a plain colour scheme of grey and black with white text, however this makes the images of his album covers and titles stand out more drawing your attention into them.

Content

Jamie T has a lot of flash on his website with a large bar at the top allowing you to watch clips and listening to music, also there is infomation about everything to do with Jamie, from update from his blog to the sales of his new EP's and buying tickets for his latest gigs, the page unlike Hellogoodbyes is stylish and simple as well as having all the infomation on one easy to use page, where as with Hellogoodbye's you have to navigate through the site to find the infomation you want.

Layout

The use of coloums make the website look clean, and it also helps with its use and they have large titles making it easy to find your way around the site. The use of text with pictures works well and again having the block colour where infomation is makes it easy to use.

Font

The font on the website is very basic just a simple serif wont nothing fancy, just plain coloured text, white for normal text with green links and titles making them stand out again making the website user friendly and easy to find your way around and get to what you want.

The Dubstep target audience
Dubstep being as indie and underground as it is at hasn’t yet had chance to appeal to many people however the target audience could be large as this is the sort of music you would expect to find in your clubs around town and as many larger artists are now starting to get into dubstep the target audience will then also begin to start get bigger again as more sub genres will come out accommodating to more people making the target larger, however at the moment searching for good dubstep artists requires patience’s as you have to look through the internet or have good friends that make the music.

Dubstep is a new genre unlike rock and other genres that have been around for a long while and are very mainstream dubstep is very much an indie genre. It was created around 2000 in London, it was inspired and is allot like grime, drum and bass and electro. The reason the genre is so popular with indie artists is you need no instrumental talent don’t have to worry about space it can be created on a laptop or desktop computer with programs such as fruityloops’ which is just one of the popular programs used when making dubstep music. Dubstep is often a 2 step rhythm with a heavy baseline with around 140 beat per minute. Even though this genre is still very indie and underground you can find sites such as MySpace music full of dubstep artists, more recently dubstep has become bigger with artists such as JME and he has also featured some dubstep artists on his tracks such as Skream.

Due to dubstep being so new and indie they often do not have any high end videos to their music often they just have a picture shown for the time the song is on, this again comes down to funding and the reason people make dubstep is its cheap to make.
Dubstep has now grown and is now recognised outside of London and the UK, due to its dance like rhythms it can often be found to be played in clubs and the involvement of bigger name stars has helped boost dubstep to becoming a much bigger genre within music.
Dubstep also can be split into smaller sub genres as many people take the music in different direction turning them either into dance like tracks or more grime and rap style tracks. A popular theme within dubstep is to use already made beats or old songs and relay the beat allot like many of the newer dance tracks have a original 80-90’s song behind them. It will often use many pre recorded sounds. Typically a dubstep song will have a ‘mc’ or a singer that will lay vocals over the track; however there are many tracks that are just instrumentals.

Recently dubstep has become much bigger with artists such as 'Xzibit' and 'Snoop Dogg' both massive stars in the USA and 'Chase & Status' who are linked with other genres that are related to dubstep. 'Eastern Jam's' was a song that got the publicity and helped boost the knowledge of the genre in 2009.

3. The driver will not film while driving and they will also have to be able to drive legally

Props
Tom Fryer’s car
DJ decks and mixer
Speaker
Sub-woofer

Location
The locations I have picked to be used in the music video will be my own room as well as in Tom’s car. The different locations in Tom’s car will be the duration of the a-52 to Derby and the a-52 heading towards Bramcotte and this will all be shot from inside the car. My house. And a room within the school with a computer and white board for a scene with Toby and his laptop.

Permission
I Fraser Mills give Ben Cheatle permission to use my song in his media project.

Treatment
The video will be mainly based around performance and throughout the performance to stop boredom and repetition it will be broken up with abstract clips and images. Theses clips will mainly be clips of the car travelling from Nottingham to Derby, this clip will be edited to fit the baseline of the song. The images used will be of places along the way making sure that they also tie into the video, the video doesn’t really have a story to it, and the song just goes through the duration of the journey until the end. The song begins slowly so the video will also do so to match this, as we are waiting for the climax before the base drops we will focus on the mixer and the volume lights in the middle, as the bass drops the camera will switch to a medium shot of Tom’s back and the DJ set. As the song begins to progress the baseline speeds up this is when the clips will switch between the journey and the DJ mixer, this will make the video seem high tempo to match the song that its going with, when the beat slows down the video will also drop pace and the video will be shown in slow motion.

I did some research into how often and what people liked to see from their music video’s this would help me when I was looking into ideas to do for my music video to see what the majority of the people like, also to see which genres they preferred and how often they would watch the videos. The repeatability of the video is also very important the video cannot become boring.
